A quick reminder: Only YOU can decide what is self

A quick reminder: Only YOU can decide what is self-care for you AND for your relationship.

There’s so much pressure in this (social media) world it seems that a shower isn’t defined as self-care and a nourishing meal isn’t defined as self-care. We are made to believe it’s only self-care if if’s extended hours out that require possibly childcare, time, and money, which many people don’t have access to. Or maybe it’s not the self-care they want, for that matter. For some, all they can get for self-care IS a shower, or a warm tea! And that is, and can be, enough…if that’s how you define it.

Same goes with relationships. You’ll read that you’re only nurturing your relationship if you’re going on extended getaways, or lavish date nights, or spending long hours together. But you may be in a season where interrupted visits between supporting the kids at night, or 15-minute catch ups while you or your spouse are away at work, fill your relationship cup. At home date nights may be all that you can get, or want. And this may change. Again, only YOU (and your spouse, in this scenario) can define what is right for you.

Take away the pressure from others…from “The Jones” & the world…Listen to your own inner voice🤍
